1. The Second Amendment secures the right to bear arms for individuals.
  2. Same sex couples should be allowed to marry and have all the same legal rights and responsibilities as opposite sex couples. This decision should be made on a state by state basis. But, if a state recognizes same sex marriage, the federal government should also recognize same sex marriages from that state.
  3. The only government funded healthcare (directly or indirectly through mechanisms such as tax deductions/credits) should be for catastrophic illnesses.
  4. Fee schedules for healthcare providers should be widely available.
  5. The current income tax system should be replaced with a flat tax. The tax code should not be used for social engineering. Inheretences should be taxed as any other income.
  6. Sin taxes should be eliminated. To the extent we have sales or use taxes, they should be equal for all items. The tax code should not be used for social engineering.
  7. The drug war on all drugs should be ended. Regulations on manufacturing standards and truth in advertising can be established.
  8. Social Security should be fazed out. It was created to remove a portion of the population from the workforce during the depression. As our population becomes older, we need people to continue to work and to learn to provide for their own retirement.
  9. Term limits should be enacted for all elected officials.
  10. Federal judges should be appointed for a single 10 year term with no possibility of reappointment. State judges should have similar term limits.
  11. All anti-discrimination laws, except as they apply to governmental entities, should be repealed.
  12. The Ninth and Tenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution should be taken very seriously. The Constitution does not create rights for people. It was intended to create a limited government and to protect the rights of the people from governmental intrusion.
  13. All laws forbidding prostitution should be repealed.
  14. Age restrictions on the consumption of alcohol should be eliminated. Any person or entity should be permitted to sell alcohol at any time of the day or week either by the drink or in package.
  15. The nearly unrebuttable presumption that a person with a blood alcohol level at or above .08 is impaired should be repealed. The state should be required to prove that a driver was actually endangering other drivers.
  16. Laws permitting the confiscation of property or cash under a legal presumption of a connection to illegal behavior, without more, should be repealed.
  17. Roe v. Wade should be overturned and the issue returned to the states.
  18. The qualified immunity from suit enjoyed by most law enforcement officials should be greatly limited.
  19. The provision of cable television service should be opened up to competition.
  20. Red light cameras should be banned.
  21. All awards of punitive damages should be given to charities (or the government). Neither the plaintiff nor the plaintiff’s attorney should be allowed a windfall from an award intended strictly to punish the defendant. The plaintiff has already been compensated for the damage they suffered before punitives are awarded.
  22. Taxes should not be withheld from paychecks. Each of us should have to actually send the government our money at tax time. Withholding eases the pain. You never had it so you don’t miss it. Writing a check would make more people pay attention to how their money is being spent.

    1. Agreed. Though where we may disagree is that I don’t think if prohibits any regulation. 5 year olds ought not be getting nuclear warheads for Christmas.
    2. Agree, however under the 14th Amendment all states must grant citizens equal protection under the law, therefore it’s not a matter of states deciding whether they will allow gay marriage but whether they will allow marriage in general.
    3. More or less agree. We probably would disagree if we delved deep into the topic, but I don’t support government funded healthcare, yet note that an enlightened society doesn’t let people die because their wallet is too thin.
    4. Agree.
    5. Flat tax sounds nice. In practice it would either put the lower-middle class out of house and home, or starve the government of funds to the point of collapse.
    6. Agree.
    7. Agree.
    8. Social Security can be easily fixed. No reason to change a program that is doing exactly what it’s supposed to. Forcing the younger generation to pay into something that you’re going to faze out leaving them with no ROI is just plain unfair.
    9. Agree
    10. Agree
    11. Agree, though in the absence of a repeal, they should be applied equally.
    12. The Constitution is the law of the land, it should all be taken seriously.
    13. Agree
    14. I don’t children (<18) ought to be able to buy alcohol without parental permission. Otherwise I agree.
    15. Agree
    16. Agree
    17. Disagree. In the absence of Roe V Wade, the issue would not be returned to the states but almost certainly immediately addressed by Congress. Even were it returned to the states, I object to the government (whether state or federal) attacking individual freedom.
    18. Agree
    19. Agree
    20. Agree
    21. Never really given it alot of thought but I think I can agree with this.
    22. Disagree. As you say, if you never had it you don’t miss it. Make people pay it all at once and such a large segment will be unable to that collection of taxes will become a logistical impossibility.
